The reason for the extension is to improve the area where the current under road culvert currently discharges the stream bordering the lower end of our property and at the same time make possible the construction of a accessory structure that is otherwise impossible because of a 20'-0" sewer easement cutting through our property in addition to the recently implemented 30'-0" stream buffer to perennial streams -see attached Site Plan explaining graphically the existing site conditions Currently the culvert terminates several feet above stream bed. Without proper protection of the banks of the stream splashing water is causing erosion around the outlet We are proposing to add a concrete connector and culvert extension pipe at a lower elevation — see the attachedS2 Section The area of extension would be covered with soil and replanted with native vegetation The proposed length of the culvert extension is 30'-0". If you have any questions or concerns or if you need additional drawings of clarifications please contact me, Jakub Markulis at 828 231 8338 My email isiakubm Drusafova-markulis com Thank you for your assistance. FG iVEO Sincer y, S Fen 25 x,018 JO arkulis r.%WK.4AN0 QUALITY ST101kMWATER PERMITTING CULVERT EXTENSION -ZAO VICINITY MAP @ 2 PERDUE PLACE ASHEVILLE, NC 28806 Description: The purpose of this project is to modify an outlet of an existing culvert under adjacent road to simultaneously improve the area drainage and erosion issues while regaining a small portion of buildable space on the lot that has been lost to sewer easement and recently implemented stream buffer. Currently the culvert terminates several feet above stream bed. Without proper protection of the banks of the stream splashing water is causing erosion around the outlet. The proposed plan is to add a concrete connector and culvert extension pipe at a lower elevation. The area of extension would be covered with soil and replanted with native vegetation. We plan to reduce the amount of existing erosion currently taking place around the mouth of the existing culvert which is currently several feet up and dumping water from a height by lowering it to the creek level. We believe that the proposed modification not only will not adversely impact but will improve the current situation. 1 b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques. We plan to install a connection box at the end of existing culvert and install a section of new pipe at the bottom of the new box. The area over the extension will be filled with rock, gravel and cover it with top sod and new planting to promote good drainage, stabilize the area and eliminate future erosion 2.
