September SSO's were caused by heavy rainfall over a short duration from Tropical
Storm Helene in our area and I&I problems. There was around 4 inches of rain that fell
in less than 2 hours. The town has a grant to try to reduce I&I by replacement of most
of there lines in the collection system. Until that project can be bided and awarded,
Parkton Public Works has been checking the collection system to see if there are any
problem they can fix in the meantime. The town strives to do the best we can to keep
SSO's from happening.
