USGS Quadrangle Map 1 1 1 l 1 l J Weldond.le School&High School Page 3 Vicinity . p i Weldon Middle School& High School Page 14 Description of Work The proposed Weldon Middle & High School project is located at the existing school site located on 415 County Road in Weldon (see Vicinity Map). The project proposes the construction of a new school building, access drives, parking lots, play fields, stadium, play areas and associated construction of storm drainage, utility, sidewalks, landscaping, etc.The entire existing school is being removed except for the existing gymnasium. Approximately 30 acres of the land will be disturbed during construction. This project proposes 50 LF of 8-in public gravity sewer, 690 LF of 6-in private gravity sewer, and 886 LF of 8-in private gravity sewer. Given this information, sewer permit applications packages for both private sewer and public sewer are submitted simultaneously to NC DEQ, with the private portion including the flow, and the public portion including zero flow. A copy of the signed Fast Track Sewer System Extension Application (FTA 10-23) has been included in Appendix A, with the original copy submitted in this application package. Per FEMA FIRM Map 3720490700J, effective date July 3, 2007,the site is not within a flood hazard area. The existing, downstream, sewer main serving the school flows to the Town of Weldon WWTP (NC 0025721) which is owned and operated by Halifax County. The Flow Tracking for Sewer Extension Applications (FTSE 10-23)form, signed by Mayor Credle of Jackson, NC on August 15,2024, included in the private portion application package, confirms that the existing wastewater treatment plant can accept the flow generated from this project. See Appendix B for a map showing the location of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in relation to the project site.
