The CEI was conducted by Tim Heim of the Asheville Regional Office. The treatment facility was found to be in violation of Permit NCG550298 for the following: Inspection Area Compliance Issue Effluent/Receiving Waters Inadequately treated effluent is impacting the receiving water • The wastewater system must be restored to working conditions as described in the permit and sampled to demonstrate that the discharge limits are not being exceeded. The residence and surrounding property was well maintained and mowed, but no components of the SFR wastewater treatment system as described in the permit were able to be located. Upon inspection of the suspected discharge location, what appeared to be inadequately treated or raw effluent with visible solids was observed seeping into the creek.
