POST OFFICE BOX 278
ANGIER, NORTH CAROLINA 27501
Subject: Permit No. WQ0002638
Permit Rescission Denial
Town of Angier WWTF
Wastewater Irrigation System
Harnett County
Dear Mr. Cook,
This letter is in response to your permit rescission request received on June 25, 2024.
The Fayetteville Regional Office has reviewed your permit rescission request and has determined
that the Permittee needs to address the following items:
1. The Town shall modify Permit No. WQCS00183 to include the existing 8-acre facultative
lagoon as an equalization basin, as well as transfer monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 to
Permit No. WQCS00183. The Town shall submit a copy of the modified Permit No.
WQCS00183 via the Non-Discharge online portal.
2. The Town shall permanently abandon monitoring wells MW-3, MW-4, and MW-5 pursuant to
the requirements in 15A NCAC 02C .0113(d). Within 30 days of abandonment, the Town shall
submit a Well Abandonment Record (Form GW-30) for each permanently abandoned
monitoring well. The Town shall submit the Well Abandonment Records via the Non-
Discharge online portal.
Accordingly, the Division has denied your permit rescission request. Pursuant to 15A NCAC 02T
.0105(j), “the Permittee shall comply with all permit conditions and requirements until the waste treatment
systems authorized by the permit are properly closed or subsequently permitted by another permit issued
by the appropriate permitting authority for that activity.”
Please contact the Fayetteville Regional Office at (910) 433-3300 if you need assistance completing
the above items. Once the Permittee has addressed these items, you may resubmit your permit rescission
request via the Non-Discharge online portal.
