RE: 2024 Semi-Annual(January to June)Discharge Monitoring Reports
OmniSource,LLC—Kernersville
COC No.NCG200353
To whom it may concern:
Please find enclosed with this submittal the Semi-Annual Discharge Monitoring Reports(DMRs)
from January I to June 30, 2024 for our OmniSource, LLC facility in Kernersville (Forsyth
County). No stormwater samples were collected and/or analyzed during February, April,or June
due to no discharge. Samples were collected during rain events in January,March, and May from
various onsite artfalls. The following DMRs are included in this submittal:
January 2024-DMR with Qualitative Monitoring Reports(QMRs)and analytical data
February 2024—No Discharge DMR
March 2024-DMR with Qualitative Monitoring Reports(QMRs)and analytical data
April 2024—No Discharge DMR
May 2024-DMR with Qualitative Monitoring Reports(QMRs)and analytical data
June 2024-No Discharge DMR
Due to continued construction(closure) of the onsite Industrial landfill(34-20)in 2023 and 2024,
approximately 100,000 cubic yards of soil has been used to cover the waste. This ongoing process
has rendered some of the outfalls(particularly Outfalls 005A,005B,and 005C)associated with the
landfill sediment basins (SB-1, SB-2, and SB-3) as unavailable for the collection of stormwater
samples.
OmniSource—Kernersville(NCG200353) Page 2 of 2 August 30,2024
Outfall locations sampled in January included 001, 002, 003, 004, 00513, 005C, and 006. Outfall
locations sampled in March included 001, 002, 004, 00513, and 006. Outfall locations sampled in
May included 001,002, 004, and 006. These locations were observed during the rain events to not
have any discharge.
If you have any questions regarding this submittal, please contact me via phone(260-450-4030)or

DEFINITIONS
OF-Dilution Factor,if reported, represents the factor applied to the reported data due to dilution of the sample aliquot.
ND-Not Detected at or above adjusted reporting limit.
TNTC-Too Numerous To Count
J-Estimated concentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit.
MDL-Adjusted Method Detection Limit.
PQL-Practical Quanlitation Limit.
RL-Reporting Limit-The lowest concentration value that meets project requirements for quantitative data with known precision and
bias for a specific analyle in a specific matrix.
S-Surrogate
1,2-Diphenylhydrazine decomposes to and cannot be separated from Azobenzene using Method 8270.The result for each analyte is
a combined concentration.
Consistent with EPAguldelines, unfounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate%recovery and RPD values.
LCS(D)-Laboratory Control Sample(Duplicate)
MS(D)-Matrix Spike(Duplicate)
DUP-Sample Duplicate
RPD-Relative Percent Difference
NC-Not Calculable.
SG-Silica Gel-Clean-Up
U-indicates the compound was analyzed for,but not detected.
Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether.
A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 Is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis ofAcrolein and Acrylonitrile by EPA
Method 8260.
N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for
each analyle Is a combined concentration.
Reported results are not rounded until the final step prior to reporting. Therefore, calculated parameters that are typically reported as
"total'may vary slightly from the sum of the reported component parameters.
Pace Analytical Is TNI accredited.Contact your Pace PM for the current list of accredited analytes.
TNI-The NELAC Institute.

All permits require qualitative monitoring to be performed during a"measurable storm event."
A"measurable storm event"is a storm event that results in an actunl discharge from the permitted site
outfall. The previous measurable storm event must have been at least 72 hours prior. The 72-hour storm
interval does not apply if the permittee is able to document that a shorter interval is representative for
local storm events during the sampling period, and the permittee obtains approval from time local DEMLR
Regional Office.

QUALIFIERS
Project: OMNISOURCE KERNERSVILLE
Pace Project No.: 92731014
DEFINITIONS
OF-Dilution Factor,if reported, represents the factor applied to the reported data due to dilution of the sample aliquot.
NO-Not Detected at or above adjusted reporting limit.
TNTC-Too Numerous To Count
J-Estimated cencentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit.
MOIL-Adjusted Method Detection Limit.
PQL-Practical Quantitalion Limit.
RL-Reporting Limit-The lowest concentration value that meets project requirements for quantitative data with known precision and
bias for a specific analyle in a specific matrix.
S-Surrogate
1,2-Diphenylhydrazine decomposes to and cannot be separated from Azobenzene using Method 8270.The result for each analyle is
a combined concentration.
Consistent with EPA guidelines, unrounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate%recovery and RPD values.
LCS(D)-Laboratory Control Sample(Duplicate)
MS(D)-Matrix Spike(Duplicate)
DUP-Sample Duplicate
RPD-Relative Percent Difference
NC-Not Calculable.
SG-Silica Gel-Clean-Up
U-Indicates the compound was analyzed for,but not detected.
Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether.
A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis ofAcrolein and Acrylonilrile by EPA
Method 8260.
N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for
each analyle is a combined concentration.
Reported results are not rounded until the final step prior to reporting. Therefore, calculated parameters that are typically reported as
"Total"may vary slightly from the sum of the reported component parameters.
Pace Analyfical is TNI accredited.Contact your Pace PM for the current list of accredited analyles.
TNI-The NELAC Institute.
ANALYTE QUALIFIERS
Rt RPD value was outside control limits.
