Dear Sir or Madam,
On August 7, 2024, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ)
received a Representative Outfall Status Request Form for the above referenced facility. That
form indicates that the facility would like to sample Outfall 001 as representative of Outfalls 002
and 003. Based upon the information submitted with the form, and the inspection completed by
NCDEQ staff, the representative outfall status is hereby denied.
Note that representative outfall status does not apply to Qualitative Monitoring, which is still
required at each outfall. Representative outfall status likewise does not reduce sampling
frequency or monitored parameters. Outfall 001 does not have data indicating it is representative
of Outfall 002 and 003. All Outfalls should continue to be monitored quarterly.
