Cause or Reason for the Upset/Spill/Bypass:
An old 3” schedule 40 reclaim line broke at the joint. The line was used to connect our old system to the new
system. The line was old and the glue gave way.

Valves were shut to stop flow and the area was dug up and the line was capped and taken out of service.

Spill occurred behind tertiary sand filter building. A 3” PVC reclaimed line broke at the joint. The line was
underground about 3 feet.

Action Taken to Contain Spill, Clean Up and Remediate the Site (if applicable):
The spilled reclaimed water went to a containment area that had been dammed away from the creek. A
pump was set up to pump water back to an EQ tank and then back into our system.
Action Taken or Proposed to be Taken to Prevent Occurrences:
Line was capped and taken out of service. This was an old line and is no longer needed.

This event had no environmental impact.
