Attached are PDFs of the replacement sheets for the Stormwater Impact Analysis. I changed the design
summaries to show the minimums as being greater than/equal to (>_) the value instead of equal to (=) the
value. There was already a note in the design summary that describes these minimum values. If you
think we need additional clarity on this page, please let me know. I updated the summary of results to
match the design spreadsheet. Let me know if you need anything else or would prefer me to resubmit a
new SIA notebook.

Jennifer had sent the note out today but forgot to copy me. Therefore, I thought you had received the
note | sent toJosh and had taken that as the official request—vvhich it wasn't. My note to Josh was the
exact words that Jennifer had included inher letter. See below:

Below is the language that I sent to Jennifer Burdette to put in the letter to the owner. Uyou see any
problems with it, please let me know.
In the "Stormvvater Impact Analysis & Preliminary Design ofStormvvater Management Facility", please
add a note of explanation or revise the placement of the "SAND FILTER SUMMARY" section to minimize
the opportunity for confusion on the "Required Sedimentation Chamber Surface Area" and "Sand Filter
Surface Area." In appearance, it seems to indicate that the sum of surface areas for the 587 sf
"Sedimentation Chamber" and the 913sf"Sand Filter" are 3337s[ Similarly, inthe second "Sand Filter
Design" page ofthe "StormwaterManagement Facility Preliminary Design [a|cu|ations" document, the
placement ofthe information could lead toconfusion. There are also some inconsistencies inthe size
calculations between the two sections of the document that need to be corrected.

WAKE FOREST MIXED USE SAND FILTER DESIGN H. DEW, EI
2/5/2016
Note: The following design calculations are based upon requirements from the 2007 NCDENR BMP Manual.
WQV = (P)(R v)(A)/12 x 43,560
where,
WQV= water quality volume (CF)
Rv = 0.05+0.0090 where I is percent impervious cover
A = area in acres
P = rainfall (in inches)

Determine the reauiredSedimentation Chamber Surface Area
The minimum required sedimentation chamber surface area, as computed by the Camp -Hazen equation is as follows:
A s = 0.066x WQV
where,
A s = sedimentation chamber surface area (SF)
Note: The above equations compute surface area using the Camp -Hazen equation and assume a sediment
trapping efficiency of 90%.
As = 802.59 sf. (minimum sedimentation chamber surface area required)
Determine the required Sand Filter Surface Area
The required filter bed area (A F) is computed using the following equation:
AF—[("QV)(d 011 ")(hA+dF)(t)J
where,
AF = surface area of filter bed (SF.)
WQV= water quality volume (CF)
dF = filter bed depth (feet)
k = coefficient of permeability of filter media (ft/day)
hA = average height of water above filter bed (feet)
t= design filter bed drain time (days)

hA =
1.0
ft. (average height of water above the filter bed)
t=
1.67
days (40 hours typical drain time)
Calculated values:
AF = 1248.3 s£ (minimum sand filter area required)
Check to see if required surface areas meet temporary storake requirements
Minimum required sand filter area, AF = 1248.3 SF (previously computed)
Minimum required sedimentation chamber area, As = 802.6 SF (previously computed)
hmfiite,. = 2.0 feet (previously computed)
Sizing is based upon the adjusted water quality volume, WQV adt (75% of the total WQV).
WQVadj = 9120 cf. (Volume contained between the sedimentation chamber and the
sand filter - above the sand)
To meet required water quality storage requirements:
As + AF= WQVadi / h.fli,,
Desi -n Summary
Therefore,
As + AF = 4560.2 SF (minimum total sand and sedimentation chamber surface area)
Note: All three minimum surface areas must be satified for the design of the sand filter. Each of the
sand and sedimentation chambers must meet the individual surface area requirements, and the total of the
two must meet the combined minimum requirement.
As + AF >_ 4560.2 SF (minimum total sand and sedimentation chamber surface area)
AF >_ 1248.3 SF (minimum sand filter area required)
As >_ 802.6 SF (minimum sedimentation chamber area required)
hmaXslter = 2.0 (maximum ponding depth in facility)
IIA = 1.0 (average ponding depth in facility)

Dear Mr. Richardson:
Wildlands Holdings II, LLC has the above mentioned Riparian Buffer Credits from the WEI — Neuse 01 Nutrient
Offset and Buffer Umbrella Bank - Buck Swamp Parcel and/or Caraway Creek, (DWQ Project #: 2012-0144), to
satisfy a portion of the Riparian Buffer mitigation requirements related to the above mentioned project. The
Project is located within the service area (HUC 03020201 - non -Falls) of the Bank.
An invoice for this transaction will be sent upon your request and we will reserve the credits for a period of 30
days from invoice. This letter is not a guarantee of availability or a reservation of the credits. Final transfer of
the credits will be made upon full receipt of your payment in the amount of $1.00 per sq. ft. to Wildlands
Holding II, LLC, at which time a credit transfer certificate verifying your credit purchase will be issued to the
North Carolina Division of Water Resources and to you for your records. At that time we will require a copy of
the Riparian Buffer Authorization Approval from NC Division of Water Resources.
Note that Wildlands Holdings III, LLC is in the process of opening a Neuse 01 (not Falls) bank to be called the
Falling Creek Nutrient and Buffer Bank. This bank will most certainly have the necessary credits available for
your full buffer requirement by the end of 2016.
