Inspection Summary:
The site inspection for dormant status approval revealed that there were numerous poly tanks with remaining liquid
chemicals in the secondary containment area along with plastic and rusted metal 55 gallon drums and two damaged poly
totes containing unidentified dark substances. The secondary containment area is almost completely full of water and a
unknown dark substance. The poly tanks, totes and drums will need to pumped out along with the secondary containment
area by a company permitted to handle and dispose of liquid chemical substances. All of the vessels should be removed
from the site and the secondary containment area cleaned and pumped out.
An open 5 gallon bucket of oil located beside the secondary containment area will need to be removed and the oil that has
spilled on the ground cleaned up and disposed of properly.
The diesel fuel tank on site will need to be pumped out completely.
The unsecured storage building containing chemical products in 55 gallon drums, 5 gallon buckets an all other containers
will need to be properly secured in the building or remove all the chemical substances from the site.
All of these issues will need to be addressed before a new dormant status request can be submitted.
Regardless of the dormant status, the chemicals and water built up in the secondary containment area will need to be
pumped out and cleaned up and the open bucket of oil will need cleaned up and removed.
