Performance The treatment facility experienced no spill(s) during the period: Clayton sent 31,479,235 gallons to Raleigh for treatment. overflows during the period that did require reporting Reportable Collection System Sanitary Sewer Overflows The collection system recorded a good performance record for the twelve-month period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. The facility met all the permit conditions during the period. Sanitary sewer overflows that release 1,000 gallons or more and/or enter surface waters must be reported to the State of North Carolina. The treatment facility treated 595,308,000 gallons during the period and met NPDES permit limits. With the following exceptions: The treatment facility delivered 11,869,901 gallons of reclaimed water to Pine Hollow Golf Course. Wastewater System Performance Annual Report Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Town of Clayton Description of Treatment Process and Collection System: The LCWRF is comprised of an automated barscreen, grit chamber, sampling station, flow monitoring, dual oxidation ditches w'ith biological nutrient removal, tertiary filter, ultraviolet disinfection, standby chlorination & dechlorination, sludge thickening , aerated sludge storage and reclaim water. The wastewater collection system is comprised of 30 lift stations, approximately 124 miles of gravity sewer and approximately 36 miles of force main. The collection system had 5 overflows during the period that did not meet the reporting criteria. O'Neil St. Gallons 2,250 The following improvements were made at the treatment facility during the twelve-month period. Complete a capacity study for future planning. Rehabilitated tertiary filters. A notice of availability is published in the Clayton News-Star and at www.townofclaytonnc.org. A report may be picked up from the customer service counter at Town Hall or the Operations Corrective measures for the overflows included cleaning the line(s) involved and the immediate area(s) in accordance with State guidelines, I & I Investigation, and plans for system improvements are in place for FY 18-19. Chemical Root Control was used throughout the year on lines with roots to avoid an SSO. The system also distributed Grease Public Education materials to all residents in accordance with requirements. No environmental impacts or adverse health effects were detected.
