As for the rest of the ATC please provide the updated drawings requested (sealed and marked as "Final Drawing — For review purposes only— not released for Construction" (page 59 of calculation chlorine contact time, pump curves, updated sheet G4, summary of proposed work, etc..) Please also revise table 2 on page 8 of the application to only reflect the added units (since no modifications will be done to the existing units), as well as adding the filter type on table 3, and adding the dosing pumps on table 6. Please find attached a spreadsheet illustrating Macclesfield WWTP Flow and BOD data from September 2020 through April 2024 ( 3 years and 8 months). This represents the period that I can easily obtain copies of the data. Note that in 2020 and 2024 all effluent BOD results were less than 2 mg/l. In each of calendar years 2021, 2022, and 2023 there was a single month in which a sample result for effluent BOD was reported other than less than 2 mg/l. In all other months all sample results were reported as less than 2 mg/l. The spreadsheet calculations are based on samples less than 2 mg/l being assumed to be 2 mg/l. Note that the removal rate consistently calculates to be greater than 99% for the entire period. A summary of annual average flow and BOD data illustrated on the spreadsheet is as follows: 2020 .059MGD Influent BOD =878 2021 .057MGD Influent BOD =596 2022 .025 MGD Influent BOD =680 2023 .030 MGD Influent BOD =391 2024 .045 MGD Influent BOD =668 Effluent BOD = 2mg/l Effluent BOD = 2mg/l Effluent BOD = 2mg/l Effluent BOD = 2mg/l Effluent BOD = 2mg/l 99+% removal 99+% removal 99+% removal 99+% removal 99+% removal It is recognized the reported influent BOD results are much higher (460 mg/l average over the most recent 16 month period) than typically expected for domestic wastewater. Perhaps these results are higher due to unique physical characteristics associated with the influent sampling location. The Town does not have any significant non -domestic wastewater customers. It is believed as flows increase and approach the WWTP .175 MGD design capacity that the BOD values will trend toward normal domestic wastewater values of 250-300 mg/l. If future flows do not trend toward values more typical of domestic wastewater, please note that each of the two oxidation ditches has the capability to treat .175 MGD with 250 mg/l of BOD and 25 mg/l of ammonia. This is equivalent to treating. 175 MGD gpd with 500 mg/l BOD and 50 mg/l ammonia, and therefore the proposed two oxidation ditches have adequate capabilities to provide treatment for the Town's wastewater even if BOD levels remain high. Note that the second oxidation ditch is being provided to accomplish duality. In summary, the proposed improvements are believed adequate to continue to provide acceptable levels of treatment in the future as flows approach the WWTP design capacity, even during a short term event with one ditch out of service. Learn why this is important Mr. Lewis, Please provide a review the current removal rate achieved for BOD at the facility (using influent and effluent data from the last 5 years) to determine current treatment capability operating at roughly 30% permitted capacity. Additionally, please provide explanation of how the facility will be able to maintain sufficient treatment as the flow experienced meets the permitted capacity. Will the observed removal rates be maintained as the flow experienced scales upward? Please consider the ability for each ditch to achieve sufficient treatment, considering one may be down for maintenance. I did not intend to upload the revised docs until you had given me the ok after review of my response comments emailed to you May 2. If you are okay with the response comments and are ready to provide project approval, please advise and we will upload the revised plans and contract docs. Regarding the ATC application, I am not sure what revisions you would like to see. I will be on vacation after today until June 16. Trey can handle anything concerning this project while I am gone. Trey's email address is listed above. Thanks for your revies and assistance with moving this project forward.
