Good morning Sue, the proposed crossing has been revised per the attached. The riprap has been
removed from the steep portion, and is only proposed at the pool immediately downstream of the
culvert outlet. It is the engineer's opinion that this will accomplish the same goal as a plunge pool. Let

considered "on hold" until a complete response is submitted.
1. The profile of the proposed culvert shows that there is a steep drop within the stream channel at the
proposed riprap outlet. Please provide clarification of the proposed slope at this location and the
feasibility of maintaining stability of the embedded riprap on a steep slope within a stream channel. The
Division encourages the designer to consider whether a plunge pool may provide more long term
channel stability at this location.
