Director Certified Mail # Return Receipt Requested Brian Long The Chemours Company Fc LLC 22828 Hwy 87 W Fayetteville, NC 28306 NORTH CAROLINA Environmental Quality September 12, 2024 SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report Chemours Company -Fayetteville Works NPDES WW Permit No. NC0003573 Bladen County Dear Permittee: The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Chemours Company -Fayetteville Works on 8/02/2024. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0003573. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". The permit was issued in 2012 and expired in 2016. Permittee has submitted a renewal application. The current permit is outdated and does not accurately reflect plant's current status. Aeration tank is now being used by stormwater process and will be covered under storm water permit. Aeration basin currently has "pre-digestor" written on side of tank. Digester tank is now being used as aeration tank. Center of Clarifier has a "flooring" 2 ft deep and maintains solids buildup due to design. Plant is using an old screw press and centrifuge run roughly 3-4 days per week to adequately dry solids. Solids are hauled to a hazardous waste site in Alabama. Facility was clean and neat in appearance. All treatment units appeared to be in working order at the time of the inspection. There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this inspection report is not required.
