HomeMy WebLinkAboutNC0061638_NOD-2024-LV-0140 Response Letter 20240917_20240917 FVM Carolina Water Service of North Carolina 9/17/2024 Division of Water Resources Water Quality Regional Operations Section Raleigh Regional office 3800 Barret Drive Raleigh, NC 27609 Reference: NOD-2024-LV-0140 Amherst WWTP Permit# NC0061638 Wake County Dear Ms. Manuel, Carolina Water Service, Inc. of NC(CWSNC) is in receipt of the above-mentioned Notice of Deficiency dated August 30th and provides additional information below. CWSNC had a Daily Fecal Coliform exceedance on July 9, 2024,with a result of 410 MPN/100mL. The cause of the daily exceedance may be attributed to uneven distribution of chlorine from the chlorine tablet dispenser. No other cause was immediately found. The following weekly sample, collected July 16t", was compliant with a result of<1.0 MPN/100mL. The Monthly average for Fecal Coliform was also compliant with an average of 4.8131 MPN/100mL. No environmental impact was noted from the daily exceedance.
