Director Hugh Jr. and Asekesai Harris 282 Carolina Crossings Drive Apex NC 27523 NORTH CAROLINA Environmental Quality September 20, 2024 SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report 282 Carolina Crossings Drive SFR Non -discharge Permit No. WQ0037499 Chatham County Dear Permittee: The North Carolina Division of Water Resources (DWR) conducted an inspection of the single-family residence (SFR) wastewater system at the above address on September 11. 2024. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in non -discharge permit no. WQ0037499. DWR representatives, Dorothy Robson, Lauren Willhite, and Myles Parker and residence representative Hugh Harris Jr. were present for the inspection. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". Division records indicate a treatment system consisting of a 1,500-gallon baffled septic tank with effluent filter; 1,000-gallon recirculation tank; two Advantex AX20 treatment units; ultraviolet disinfection unit; 5,400- gallon storage pump tank with audible/visual high-water alarm ; a 0.39-acre drip irrigation area; and all associated piping, valves, controls and appurtenances. DWR conducted a review of records and did a limited inspection of the above areas of the facility. The units were unopened; however, the system was manually turned on and DWR was able to determine that the filter and pump were functional. No visual system failures were observed around the system. The area was nicely landscaped and easily accessible. There are no violations or outstanding fees associated with the new owners of the permit. Any prior fees owed by the previous owners have been waived. This review reflected compliance with the subject permit. However, the following item of concern was noted: 1. The drip field was overgrown with large branches on the drip lines. There was also a fence lacking on 3 sides of the drip field. Please add fencing and clear the drip field in order to prevent damage and allow the system to function properly. 2. The permit is still under the previous owner's name and needs to be updated to the new owners. Please contact Central Office (919-707-3600) or follow this link to complete a change of Ownership application and submit it to the Central Office. https://www.deq.nc.gov/water-resources/non- discharge/sfrwwis-co-03-21/download North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality I Division of Water Resources DE Q}j Raleigh Regional Office I 3800 BarrettDrive I Raleigh, North Carolina 27609 o pe .. iE ,...maa.• 1y d 919.791.4200 Docusign Envelope ID: EB6B9669-CBE7-42B6-8443-09DE19591 F48 Please refer to the attached "Compliance Inspection Report" for additional comments and observations.
