HomeMy WebLinkAboutWQ0040799_Inspection_20240917 September 9, 2024 Mitchell & Nicole Johnson 2617 Whistling Quail Run Apex, NC 27562 SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report 2617 Whistling Quail Run, Apex, NC 27562 Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0040799 Wake County Dear Permittee: The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the 2617 Whistling Quail Run SFR on 7/19/2024. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0040799. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". Division records indicate a treatment system consisting of a 1,250 gallon septic tank with an effluent filter; a 1,000 gallon recirculation tank with a 13 gallon per minute (GPM) recirculation pump; a 600 GPD E-Z Treat recirculating sand filter unit; an ultraviolet (UV) disinfection unit; a 3,600 gallon dosing/storage tank with an 18 GPM pump, audible/visual high-water alarms, and a rain sensor; a 0.34 acre drip irrigation area; and all associated piping, valves, controls, and appurtenances. During the inspection, the following was observed: Schedule (Section I of permit): 1. The permit expires on September 30, 2025. According to the permit Section I. 3. a renewal is to be submitted six months prior to the expiration of the permit. As the permittee, you are required to request renewal of this permit no later than April 3, 2025. Performance (Section II): 2. The facility meets the performance standards and setbacks as stipulated in Section II of the permit. Operation and Maintenance (O&M) (Section III): 3. The facility meets the operation and maintenance requirements as stipulated in Section III of the permit. 4. The septic tank, pump tank, E-Z Treat sand filter, UV Disinfection, rain gauge and alarms appeared to be functional. The facility meets the monitoring and reporting requirements as stipulated in Section IV of the permit. Inspections (Section V): 7. David Brantley & Sons, Inc. is contracted to conduct biannual inspections. Mr. Johnson stated there have been no system performance issues or major repairs. General Conditions (Section VI): 8. The facility continues to be owned by Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. No violations have been reported in the past five years. The 2024 Annual Permit Fee was due August 15, 2024. Invoice #2024PR007161 balance status is currently overdue. Annual permit fees must be paid for Period Year 2024. This report is a notification of the results of the compliance inspection. Within 30-days receipt of this letter, submit a written response to this office addressing the issue noted in item 8 above. Please be aware that non-compliance with your permit could result in enforcement action by the Division of Water Resources for these and any other violations of State law. Waibel and T. Clark performed a compliance evaluation inspection on July 19th, 2024. At the time of the inspection, the treatment, disinfection and drip irrigation components of the wastewater treatment system were functioning properly and appeared in good condition. Mr. Johnson noted that David Brantley & Sons, Inc. is the service contractor for the facility. There was no ponding/signs of run-off within the irrigation area and all drip irrigation lines were functioning properly.
