New Hill, NC 27562 Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0010736 Wake County Dear Permittee: The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the 3804 Mason Rd. SFR on 7/25/2024. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0010736. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". Division records indicate a treatment system consisting of a 1,000 gallon baffled septic tank; a 1,000 gallon dosing tank; a 144 square foot (ft) covered surface sand filter; a tablet chlorinator; a 3,000 gallon storage/pump tank; a 0.39 acre spray irrigation area; and all associated piping, valves, controls, and appurtenances. During the inspection, the following was observed: Schedule (Section I of permit): 1. The permit expired on February 28, 2022. A permit renewal application was received on June 4, 2024. According to the permit Section I. 3. a renewal is to be submitted six months prior to the expiration of the permit. As the permittee, you are required to request renewal of this permit no later than August 4, 2030. Performance (Section II): 2. The facility meets the performance standards and setbacks as stipulated in Section II of the permit. Operation and Maintenance (O&M) (Section III): 3. During the inspection, the fencing around the irrigation area was adequate except for a small section of missing fencing due to a damaged gate. Please replace the fence gate to meet the permit requirements. 4. The septic tank, pump tank, sand filter, rain gauge and alarms appeared to be functional. Ms. Moore has provided me with information that Bobby Davis Jr. Septic Service performed the most recent septic tank and pump tank clean out on October 5, 2022. Monitoring and Reporting (Section IV): 6. The facility meets the monitoring and performance requirements as stipulated in Section IV of the permit. Inspections (Section V): 7. Bobby Davis Jr. Septic Service is contracted to conduct biannual inspections. Ms. Moore stated there have been no major repairs. General Conditions (Section VI): 8. The facility continues to be owned by Ms. Moore and annual fees have been paid. No violations have been reported in the past five years. This report is a notification of the results of the compliance inspection. Within 30-days receipt of this letter, submit a written response to this office addressing the issue noted in item 3 above. Please be aware that non-compliance with your permit could result in enforcement action by the Division of Water Resources for these and any other violations of State law. Waibel and T. Clark performed a compliance evaluation inspection on July 25th, 2024. During the inspection, it was noted that there was a missing section of the irrigation area fencing due to a damaged gate that Ms. Moore had removed. Ms. Moore acknowledged the fencing issue and assured that it was being repaired. At the time of the inspection, the treatment and irrigation components of the wastewater treatment system were functioning properly and appeared in good condition. Bobby Davis Jr. Septic Service was on-site during the inspection and were replacing control panel posts and addressing a suspected clogged effluent piping between the sand filter and chlorination chamber. There was no ponding/signs of run-off within the irrigation area and all irrigation heads were functioning properly.
