Alternative Sewer Extension Application — The Orchards at Ocean Isle
To Whom It May Concern,
Timmons Group is pleased to submit the following Alternative Sewer Extension Application on behalf of the Town of
Ocean Isle Beach. This application is being submitted to request the addition of nine (9) individual home grinder
pump stations located on E. 2nd Street approximately 250 FT northeast of the intersection of Sanford Steet and E. 2nd
Street in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. The scope of this project includes the construction of twelve (12) single-family
residential lots. Three (3) of the twelve (12) single-family residential lots will have simplex grinder pump stations with
a single direct line connecting to the existing gravity sewer and a flow of less than 600 GPD. Therefore, these three
simplex grinder pump stations are not included in this permitting package because they are deemed permitted (15A
NCAC 02T .0303).
The proposed nine individual home grinder pump stations and accompanying force main have one zone. Zone 1 is a
2" force main with 9 simplex grinder pump stations. The force main includes 370 LF of 2" pipe. The force main
connects to existing offsite gravity sewer (WQCS00277).
The packaged stations will be wired to receive power for two independent sources to satisfy the power reliability
requirement for the project.
This application includes the application fee, Alternative Sewer System Extension application, two Flow Tracking for
Sewer Extension applications (one from the Town of Ocean Isle Beach and the other from Brunswick County), sealed
engineering plans, sealed specifications, sealed engineering calculations for both the pressure sewer and wet well
volume, a USGS topographic map, and a street level map.
