Please find the attached sampling results letter with the GW-59 forms for the A.B. Carter facility in Gastonia. As you know, the spray field has been decommissioned and the permit requirements have been reduced to nitrate monitoring at one monitoring well (MW- 19). Based on the most recent sampling event, nitrate levels have reduced to below the 2L Standard in monitoring well MW-19. Therefore, A.B. Carter is requesting rescission of the permit. Please let me know if you have any questions or require additional information. Carter, Inc., Permit #WQ0004270 Gastonia, North Carolina H&H Job No. ABC.030 To Whom It May Concern: On behalf of A.B. Carter, Inc. (A.B. Carter), enclosed are the results for the August 2024 sampling and analysis conducted at the above-referenced facility. Per an email dated July 12, 2022 from the Non-Discharge Branch Chief, Nathaniel Thornburg, monitoring and reporting for the facility has been suspended with the exception of nitrate, pH, and water level for monitoring well MW-19 due to the decommissioning of the spray field system. The nitrate concentration detected in the sample from MW-19 was below the 15A NCAC 02L.0202 Groundwater Quality Standard (2L Standard). Therefore, A.B. Carter is requesting a rescission of the permit. If you have any questions regarding the enclosed results, please feel free to give me a call at (919) 723-2512 or Mike Jeffords of A.B. Carter at (704) 874-2757. Sincerely, Hart & Hickman, PC Gregory Kanellis, P.E. Project Manager Attachments cc: Mr. Bryan Reczek – A.B. Carter, Inc. (via email) Mr. Mike Jeffords – A.B. Carter, Inc.
