Please allow this letter to function as a CAR response to address these issues. The 2023 annual on -site inspections for Lenoir Mirror, Exela Augusta, Exela Michelle, and Stallergenes Greer Labs were inadvertently missed. These industries have not been in violation of their permit requirements and are in good standing with the program. As a result, we feel that the annual onsite inspection violation did not cause any issues at the wastewater treatment plants ability to treat the wastewater. However, we will strive to ensure that all five (5) SIU/CIU permitted industries will be inspected this year, 2024. There have been several new employees, which requires new training. We are in the process of one employee becoming more efficiently trained in the pretreatment program requirements. He has already obtained two (2) of the three (3) levels of the NC pretreatment program specialist certifications. As a recommendation note in the inspection report by Rachel Rose, all this additional employee training is in preparation and hopes of getting him into a pretreatment coordinator position. This position will be dedicated only to the pretreatment program, which in turn will help alleviate future minor program violations. i of Elisa Triplett, Supt. WWTP
