I am writing this letter in response to your 2 August 2024 email
notice of expiration regarding operating permit number W10800148, for
USMC Camp Lejeune-Site 89 located at Operable Unit 16, issued on 21
May 2007 by the Underground Injection Control Program of the North
Carolina Division of Water Resources.
Permit No. WI0800148 was submitted for the operation of injections
for three studies, one injected emulsified vegetable oil into direct
push technology borings; one injected zero valent iron into wells
which were then pneumatically fractured; one injected air into a
horizontal well. The horizontal well is the only remaining
infrastructure. As requested, the findings and monitoring data are
provided in enclosure (1) . No future injections are planned at this
location and a permit rescission request form is provided as enclosure
(2) .
