Thacker, Owner Discharging WWT System for Two (2) Bedroom Residence Alamance County Dear Mr. Thacker: A letter of request for Authorization to Construct was received May 26, 1983, by the Division and final plans and specifications for the subject project have been reviewed and found to be satisfactory. Authorization is hereby granted for the construction of a .0003 MGD wastewater treatment facility consisting of a collection system, a 1,000 gallon septic tank, two subsurface sand filters in series of 265 square feet and 130 square feet, a tablet type chlorinator, a chlorine contact tank, aeration steps (5), connection pipe, fittings, and discharge line to serve the Dolphus A. Thacker two (2) bedroom residence located off NC-87 in Alamance County and with discharge to Big Alamance Creek. This Authorization to Construct is issued in accordance with Part III paragraph C of NPDES Permit No. NC0056383 issued May 27, 1983, and shall be subject to revo- cation unless the wastewater treatment facilities are constructed in accordance with the conditions and limitations specified in Permit No. NC0056383. You should be aware that the Environmental Management Commission has recently reclassified Jordan Reservoir and adopted a strategy for discharges upstream of the Reservoir. This action may result in a requirement in the future that phosphorous removal at your discharge would have to be installed. The sludge generated from these treatment facilities must be disposed of in accordance with G.S. 143-215.1 and in a manner approvable by the North Carolina Division of Environmental Management. The Winston Salem Regional Office, telephone number 919/761-2351 shall be notified at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of backfilling of the installed subsurface filter system so that an in-place inspection can be made of said system prior to back- filling. Such notification to the Regional Supervisor shall be made during the normal office hours from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Monday through Friday, excluding State Holidays. Cont'd.
