DWR Parties Present: Jordan Cocanower(Inspector) Carolina Water Service Parties Present: Anthony Futrell (ORC), John Marpole, Craig Coleman Thank you to the Carolina Water Service folks who accomodated this inspection. They were well prepared and transparent throughout the process. All necessary documentation was available and presented in an orderly fashion for review. -Maps of the collection system are available via paper or Arcmap. The Carolina Water Service GIS Department is working on updating the maps to include pipe age. -Carolina Water Service is submitting the form to designate Mr. Marpole as primary operator and to make Mr. Futrell the backup operator. -Work orders supplemented the CIP for proposed upgrades to PS#1 and PS#2. - Maintenance is recorded via tablet with anything contracted out documented with receipts -4575 If of gravity sewer was cleaned in 2024 (>10%) All five pump stations in the system were inspected during the visit. All stations were well maintained and secured. Pump stations are inspected by staff once or twice weekly and logs are kept via tablet. Pump stations are equipped with Missions Telemetry which was fully functional at all stations(calls received simultaneously with high water notification). All high water alarms/lights were triggered when floats were pulled.Wells were free of solids and greases/oils. Pump Stations#1 and #2 are aging, but are slated for rehabilitation. Onsite generators have been discussed for some stations. The HPL(non-aerial, under unnamed tributary)was inspected during visit. No problems were encountered. This HPL is frequently inspected by Carolina Water Service staff. Overall, this system is being operated successfully and is in compliance with the permit. The operators are knowledgeable of their system and are cognizant of potential shortcomings regarding aging infrastructure.
