RE: City of Eden WTP and WWTP Hypochlorite Conversion — ATC Permit Comment Response
Dear Mr. Tuvia
Please find below a response to your comments dated May 17, 2024, regarding the above referenced project:
1. On page 6 of the application please fill in the table the design effluent fecal and the permit limit.
Response: This has been revised on the permit application.
2. On page 9 please include the dosing pumps for the chlorine disinfection, also include in the drawing and
sizing calculations.
Response: Dosing pump information has been added to page 9 and drawing and specification references are added
as well.
3. Will there be any change to the dechlorination?
Response: No change to the dechlorination process.
4. On page 11 of the application the PE seal is missing.
Response: PE seal added to page 11.
5. How was the Peaking factor of 2.5 determined? peaking factor of 3.25 or higher seems more appropriate.
Response: The 2.5 peaking factor was previously determined for the North Aeration Basin Replacement project,
where the ATC was approved. The City currently has a reduced influent flow to the facility, but if flows are increased
in the future, they are expected to be comprised of mostly industrial flows with more sustained flow patterns versus
highly variable flows from residential and commercial customers.
Sincerely,
