The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Southwinds WWTP on
7/19/2024. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the
conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0018992. The findings and
comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report
entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".
There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this
inspection report is not required.

Inspection Summary:
A routine compliance inspection of the Southwinds WWTF was conducted on July 19, 2024. The purpose of the evaluation
was to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Permit WQ0018992.
Don and Karrie O'Mara were presnt during the inspection.
The extended aeration treatment plant with a high-rate infiltration, drip irrigation system is permitted for 43,200 GPD. The
2023-2024 flow averaged —3,000 GPD during the winter season and —15,000 GPD in the summer.
The plant does not have a chlorine contact chamber and disinfection contact time takes place in the dosing tank before it is
discharged to the drip irrigation fields. EQ tank and plant upgrade were completed since last inspection.
A file review since the last inspection in July 15, 2022 shows no effluent violations and several incidences of slight elevation
of TDS levels in MW#1 and MW#3, and elevated results for Nitrogen, Nitrate Total.
The facility is compliant with Non-Discharge Permit WQ0018992. Please review the comment sections of the inspection
