This application proposes to permit the remainder of lots in Bay Line Subdivision Phase 2
(this permit referred to as Phase 2B), which consists of 43 single family lots. The
development is part of a larger development approved as a PUD by Brunswick County, but
residing in the Town of Calabash limits. The single-family homes will be served by low
pressure sewer that flows to and through the infrastructure installed with permit number
WQ0045215 (Bay Line Subdivision Phase 3) and then to a gravity system and centralized
County -owned and maintained lift station that will be constructed with permit number
WQ0045180 (Sands at BayLine Public Pump Station and Sewer). No further analysis of
downstream infrastructure is required. The low-pressure sewer sizes and lengths are
shown in the attached supplemental report provided by Crane Pumps. The proposed
project will meet all NCDENR minimum design criteria for sanitary sewer extensions. The
design flow rate for this phase of the project is calculated at 9,030 GPD (210 gal/unit)
based on NCAC 2T Rules for wastewater flow rates and the anticipated flow from the
single-family residential lots.
