NCDWR Project No. 20210955
Good morning all,
Over the last few weeks, I've spoken with Travis and Fritz (both cc'd) about the artesian conditions the contractor
is experiencing while trying to work within the casings. The decision has been made to drive piles instead of
utilizing drilled shafts. I did not ask Travis about this specifically, we discussed driving piles in the shafts during
the moratorium which was not approved. Fritz was OK with this approach as long as we adhere to the
moratorium. Based on this:
• The 2/15-9/30 in -water work moratorium will still be adhered to,
• The span arrangement and the temporary workbridge location will remain the same,
• Permanent fill in surface waters will remain <0.01 ac as shown on the revised impact summary sheet which
now indicates driven piles.
Without a requested impact change, I have not submitted this through Laserfiche but will be happy to if that would
be helpful.
Please let me know if you have any questions and if this revision is approved.
Thankyou,
CHRIS RIVENBARK, PWS, CPM
