Groundwater is heated or cooled as necessary and passed through the units on a once through non -contact basis. No conditioners or biocides are added. In about 1988 the hatchery was connected to the Town of Rose Hill sewer system. All wastewater including domestic waste, hatchery waste and cooling water was connected. The company has recently decided to disconnect the cooling water from the system to reduce the cost for sewer service. Three outfalls have been made to the adjacent ditches. It is recommended that a permit be drafted and placed at public notice containing standard conditions for non -contact cooling water discharges. If no significant adverse public comments are received, it is recommended that the permit be issued for a period of five years.
