Hello Kevin, First off, I would like to thank you for coming out for my first Inspec Ɵon. I really appreciate you being paƟent with us and also taking the Ɵme to help us beƩer understand the issues we are dealing with and giving us adequate Ɵme to fix the issues at hand. Issue 1)Duncan LiŌ StaƟon generator. AŌer speaking to you about this issue I believe you found that it is not part of the inspec Ɵon, but we will be having someone come out to inspect the issue with the generator not coming on at power loss. Issue 2)High Priority lines not being inspected properly. We will be looking at a beƩer rouƟne to complete line inspecƟons and laterals. I hope you will be sending me the informaƟon you have for the line inspecƟons and creek crossings so we can make sure we are on the same page. Most of my guys are new, including myself, along with being shorthanded, we will push to get issues taken care of in a safe and Ɵmely manner. Issue 3)No copy of permit. I just took over this department in November of 2023 and I have yet to find a copy of the permit. I can however promise that our new permit will be visible in my office at all Ɵmes. Would it be possible to receive another copy of the current permit? Issue 4)No record of distances of sewer cleaned. This is an issue we will work on as a team to find out the lengths of all the sewer mains we rod monthly. We will be working on geƫng up to date numbers for this. Issue 5)Spill response plan outdated. I will be talking with other municipaliƟes and doing some research on this issue. Updated plan will be ready when you return. Issue 6)Sewer map missing mulƟple components. We are working on updaƟng our system daily and we will conƟnue to improve our mapping system with the help of Person County IT and our GIS Department. Again, Thank you for your Ɵme and we will all be working hard to improve our system and be prepared for our next inspecƟon. 2 Sincerely, Chad Lawson City of Roxboro Public Utilities Superintendent 336-599-5658 From: Fowler, Kevin G <kevin.fowler@deq.nc.gov> Sent: Thursday, June 27, 2024 2:03 PM To: Chad Lawson <clawson@cityofroxboro.com> Subject: EXTERNAL: Inspection Letter DEQ ***CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.*** Hello Mr. Lawson, Find attached for the inspection letter/report for the collection system permit inspection we did last week. A copy will also be mailed out to the permit owner listed. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. FYI…I did do some digging and found that it is not a REQUIREMENT to test the generators underload and by interrupting the power source. I think it would obviously be a good idea to incorporate to make sure things would work in the worst case scenario.
