This is a site that the State operates through contractors. The system needs to be repaired and/or replaced as it needs to operate, but like all State agencies, there is a.process for procuring contracts and equipment and it's tied to the money being available. As I understand it, the current State contactor is to design a fix for the system and it will be operational again at some point, so they need to kelp the CoC. We just do not need to be in the position of issuing an NOV because they are not sending in reports for a system that is not operational. This is a high priority site with wells in the area so active remediation is needed. I don't believe that we can change the designation in BIMs herein the region, hence Charles's involvement. We just need to tag the permit as inactive until they get it operational again. I don't think I have permission to do that but will talk to the folks in entral office who can. My life has been sorta crazy for the past couple of months. It started with my Mother sorta sliding into a fall (wasn't a hard fall, as she tried to catch herself), but anyway, she ultimately landed in rehab, was just 1 week shy of going back home when she started hurting in her abdomen and that sent her to the ER on a Saturday night. Late Tuesday afternoon she was having an endoscopic procedure, and Thursday (May 7), she passed away. That's the real `Readers' Digest' version. Things in my personal life and here at work are slowing returning to normal, whatever'normal' is!!! O Isaac's: What a mess. We inherited that treatment system that's currently there and we have put band aid after band aid on it until it's finally just no good anymore. Then we had state lead contracts with a company that gave us nothing but promises they couldn't keep and work they weren't qualified to do (even though they said they were). We finally had to fire them. Then advertise for new contractors. We are playing catch up with all the work the former contractor failed to deliver and trying to stay on top of the new sites we get in. I have assigned Isaac's to S&ME and we are currently trying to re -design what's up there beca6se it's clearly not working, is a visual nuisance, and a danger to the children in the mobile home park; I have received a proposal from S&ME for the re -design, but I want to ask them about another possible way to treat that water draining out of the hill from Isaac's.
