Subject: Compliance Evaluation Inspection
Single Family Wastewater Treatment System
7840 Massey Chapel Road
Certificate of Coverage NCG551612
Durham County
Dear Mr. Albrecht:
On June 11,2024,Danny Smith from the Raleigh Regional Office of the Division of Water Resources
(DWR)visited your single-family residence(SFR)wastewater treatment system to evaluate compliance
with the subject General NPDES Permit.
This wastewater treatment system is located at 7840 Massey Chapel Road, in Durham County North
Carolina and is currently permitted to Bryan C.Albrecht.
General NPDES Permit NCG550000 and Certificate of Coverage(COC)NCG551612 authorize this
discharge of domestic wastewater from your treatment system to receiving waters designated as unnamed
tributary to New Hope Creek in the Cape Fear River Basin. This authorized discharge is in accordance
with the effluent limits and monitoring requirements established within the General Permit.
The subject site visit and file review revealed the following:
1. Pumping the septic tank: Septic tanks should be pumped out approximately every five years or
when the solids level is found to be more than 1/3 of the liquid depth in the septic tank
compartment, whichever is greater. A pumping company can check the status periodically and
determine when pumping is required.
The system includes a septic tank, Advan Tex Pod, UV disinfection, pump tank, and discharge
pipe.
It was explained to the inspector that the Service Contractor inspects and services the system
annually. During this yearly services inspection the septic tank is pumped out(as needed), the
UV bulb is changed out every year, electrical panel operations is confirmed, and the effluent is
sampled.
3. Discharge outlet location. The permittee is required to conduct a visual review of the outfall
location at least twice each year to ensure that no visible solids or other obvious evidence of
system malfunctioning is observed. Any visible signs of a malfunctioning system shall be
documented and steps taken to correct the problem.

To comply with the general permit monitoring requirements, you need to be able to sample and
analyze the effluent from your SFR system. Please take the necessary steps to ensure the
discharge outlet remains identifiable/visible and accessible.
4. Analyzing the effluent: Part 1. C.,Effluent Limitations and Monitoring Requirements, within
General Permit NCG550000 requires a permittee to sample and analyze the effluent leaving the
treatment system prior to discharge,annually.
The General NPDES Permit requires the permittee to retain records associated with sewage
disposal activities for a period of at least 5 years and to have the data available for review.
Mr. Albrecht explained that system is sampled and the UV bulb is replaced annually. Mr.
Albrecht provided effluent sample results for review. He also provided files and information that
included resultsffindings from previous service contract visits.
5. Part II Section B.14 of General Permit NCG550000 requires the permittee to"pay the annual
administering and compliance monitoring fee within thirty days after being billed by the
Division."
A review of the billing records for this facility indicates that the permit annual fee for 2024 has
been paid. This billing period ends 0113112025
Thank you for your attention to these matters. Please continue to periodically inspect the wastewater
treatment system ensuring the treatment components are always maintained and in good operating order.
You are also reminded to maintain all monitoring data and associated maintenance records onsite for
a minimum of five years and have this material available for inspection.
If you have questions or comments about this inspection or the requirements to take corrective action(if
applicable),then please contact Danny Smith at(919)791-4248.
Sincerely,
DtDcusigned y:
