The Shallotte WWTF is permitted to treat 500,000 GPD. On April 8, 2022, an updated version of permit WQ0000798 was issued to Brunswick County. This update included construction authorization and permit modifications associated with the construction of the new Mulberry Branch Water Reclamation Facility (permit no. WQ0042579). Multiple compliance schedules related to the construction were included in the 2022 permit update. When construction progress meets the requirements in the compliance schedule, Brunswick County will provide an update to the Wilmington Regional Office. Brunswick County is currently in the early stages of construction of the Mulberry Branch WRF.
