Box 535 Mount Pleasant,North Carolina 28124 Subject: COMPLIANCE EVALUATION INSPECTION NPDES Stormwater General Permit NCG210000 Piedmont Hardwood Lumber Company Piedmont Hardwood Lumber Company, Certificate of Coverage NCG210419 Cabarrus County Dear Mr. Stirewalt: On June 6, 2024, a site inspection was conducted for the Piedmont Hardwood Lumber facility located at 9000 Hwy 49, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. A copy of the Compliance Inspection Report is enclosed for your review. The site visit and file review revealed that the subject facility is covered by NPDES Stormwater General Permit NCG210000 under Certificate of Coverage NCG210419. Permit coverage authorizes the discharge of stormwater from the facility to receiving waters designated as Dutch Buffalo Creek, class C waters in the Yadkin Pee-Dee River Basin. As a result of the inspection, the facility was found to be compliant with the conditions of the NCG210000 permit. Please refer to the enclosed Compliance Inspection Report for additional comments and observations made during the inspection. Please be advised that violations of the NPDES Stormwater General Permit are subject to a civil penalty assessment of up to $25,000 per day for each violation. Analytical and qualitative monitoring was present and being conducted per the permit at the time of the inspection. Monitoring data missing from the previous inspection was present as well. Representatives on site informed that they were working on submission of the monitoring data to e-DMR. Both outfalls were observed during the inspection with no noted issues. At the time of the inspection, the outfalls were undergoing repair and refreshing of the channels with new rip rap. All compliance issues in the notice of violation have been satisfied.
