Section D: Summary of Findings/Comments:
1. According to the DMR reports reviewed for the period December 1995. through November
1996, the plant's effluent was in compliance with the NPDES permit's limits.
2. Hydrologic Laboratory does the facility's analytical work.
3. pH and dissolved oxygen meters are calibrated and logs kept at the Red Springs WWTP
(their equipment is used).
4. Other records kept at the Parkton WWTP are being adequately maintained.
5. Dismukes and. Company checks/calibrates the effluent flow meter. It has been checked in
the last year.
6. On the day of inspection, a grab sample of the effluent revealed a settleable solids level
of a trace/ltr with a clear supernatant in the test vessel.
7. Two beds of sludge have been applied to the Robeson County Landfill in the past year.
The Parkton WWTP generates very little sludge.
8. The facility has an oval "race track" aerator with one rotating brush aerator which seems
to adequately oxygenate the ditch contents.
