List the total estimated acreage of all existing wetlands on the property: 15.81 ac 4g. List the total estimated linear feet of all existing streams on the property: 3602 If 4h. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: The purpose of the proposed project is to provide housing for the growing Burgaw area. 41. Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used: The overall project involves two stream and wetland crossings that necessitate the installation of one culverts. The primary objective is to ensure that the connections between the wetlands and streams are not severed. To achieve this, the client will utilize culvert and riprap /dissipator pads to prevent sediment contamination into the wetlands and streams. Project Details: Impacts/Crossings: 1,422 sq ft / 0.03 ac total impact Culvert Installation: One culvert will be installed to maintain the natural hydrological connections between the wetlands and streams. Sediment Control: Riprap and dissipator pads will be used at the culvert outlets to dissipate energy and control sediment, preventing it from entering the wetlands and streams. Total Wetland Impact: 0.03 acres Long-term indirect impacts are anticipated to be minimal due to the use of riprap and dissipator pads, which will help maintain water quality and prevent sedimentation. See Appendix D for further information. 5. Jurisdictional Determinations 5a. Have the wetlands or streams been delineated on the property or proposed impact areas? Yes No G Unknown Comments: 5b. Comments: E. Impact Justification and Mitigation 1. Avoidance and Minimization 2g. Total Permanent Wetland Impact 0.033 1a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project: The wetlands have been clearly delineated and marked on all project maps and plans to ensure they are easily distinguishable. Strategic Placement of Culverts: The culverts have been strategically placed to ensure they align with the natural flow paths of the streams and wetlands. This minimizes disruption to the existing hydrology and ensures that water flow is maintained, preventing the severance of wetland and stream connections. Use of Riprap and Dissipator Pads: Riprap and dissipator pads are incorporated at the culvert outlet to control erosion and dissipate the energy of flowing water. 1b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques: Erosion and sediment control measures will be implemented, including silt fences, sediment basins, and erosion control blankets. These measures will be installed prior to construction and maintained throughout the project to capture and control sediment, preventing it from entering wetlands and streams. Protective barriers, such as construction fencing and buffer zones, will be installed around wetlands and streambanks to prevent accidental encroachment by construction equipment and personnel. These barriers will clearly delineate sensitive areas. 2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State 2a. Does the project require Compensatory Mitigation for impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State? Yes No 2b.
