June 17, 2024 Re: Redhawk Buffer Reauest — Diffuse Flow Narratives Provided by Proiect Eneineers: The following engineering and design considerations will be implemented to ensure that the proposed project will not generate concentrated stormwater flow through the buffer: • Efforts were made during the design of the residential marina parking lot and lake access to reduce long term channelized flow into the 50' riparian buffer. For both the entrance road and the parking lot, the curb is 1' ribbon curb which carries the same cross slope as the road. The intent is for water to sheet flow off the road. • The road has a 2% cross slope, as does the ribbon curb, the planting strip, and the sidewalk so that no water is channelized, eliminating the need for catch basins in the parking lot or for the entrance road. • The drainage area is being reduced to an existing ephemeral channel adjacent to the existing pump station that outfalls 50' from the start of the 20' Zone 2 No Build buffer. • Coconut fiber matting and rock check dams will be utilized to reduce velocities in the channel during construction. • Design calculations show 7 US in the channel during the 10-year storm event, which is less than it is currently carrying, therefore reducing flows during storm events. • Per GNRD requirements, we will be revegetating any disturbed ground with a native seed mix.
