Subject: CAMA Emergency Major Permit #7-16 modification request on US-70 Carteret Counry
Dear Mr. Lane,
Further erosion has occurred along US 70 due to recent high water events. The end result is a now
very unstable shoulder. 640 feet of additional shoulder is in need of repair/stabilization. Based on
these current and future unsafe conditions to the public and the need to get these areas repaired as
soon as possible we respectfully request a modification to existing CAMA Emergency Permit #7-16 to
include this section of shoulder in the emergency permit and to move forward with these repairs.
CurrenUy NCDOT plans to repair shoulder with rip rap and backfill with soil back to preexisting
conditions and stabilize. Drawings of repair locations are attached. Impacts are listed and detailed in
the drawing. Please debit $100.00 from WBS #2.101611 to cover this modification request.
