Charlotte UDO—Article 23 —Water Supply Watershed Protection
Dear Mr. Miller:
The Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources (DEMLR)reviewed and approved Charlotte UDO
—Article 23 —Water Supply Watershed Protection received by our office on April 8, 2024. On June 1,
2023, Charlotte Mecklenburg Stormwater Services began implementing the UDO. The main change to
the ordinance and format was conversion of a lot of text to table format as well as all of the variance,
appeals, and enforcement language being included in Articles 37 and 39 instead within the Water Supply
section. DEMLR approves the ordinance revisions in accordance with North Carolina General Statute
143-214.5 and North Carolina Administrative Code 15A NCAC 02B .0100, .0200, .0620-.0624.
