Everything looks good except for a few small issues: Please correct the following: • Sand Filter MDC 2—Per the revised stage-storage table, the storage volume provided in each chamber does not appear to be equivalent(Vsand_chamber=6,838 cf&Vsed._chamber=5,038 cf). Please revise as needed. NOTE:The sediment chamber may be oversized to provide detention so long as at least half of the minimum required treatment volume (half of 10,902 cf= 5,451 cf) is provided in each chamber(below the invert of the bypass device). Please provide the following: • 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised page of the Supplement-EZ Form. • 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised page(s) of the calculations. • 1x hard copy (2x hard copies for plan sheets) & 1x electronic copy of any other items needed to address these comments. Hard copies should be mailed to me at the following address: For Fed Ex/UPS: Jim Farkas 512 N. Salisbury Street, Office 640M Raleigh, NC 27604 For USPS: Jim Farkas 1612 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1612 Hand Delivery: Please reach out to me prior to hand delivering a submission to make sure that I (or someone else in my group) will be able to receive the submission. Do not leave the package in the foyer with the security guard. NOTE: Hard copies should not be sent to a Regional Office. Doing so will delay the review process and the submission package may be lost while being sent from the Regional Office to me in the Central Office. Electronic copies should be uploaded at the following location: https://edocs.deg.nc.gov/Forms/SW-Supplemental- Upload Since these are really minor things, once I get the hard copies, anything else that may have changed from addressing these issues, and the documents are uploaded to Laserfiche (Provided everything is still in order),we can issue the 1 permit without doing another formal review. The quickness of the next review for this project is dependent on reviewer availability. Everything looks good except for a few small issues: Please correct the following: • Prior Comment 7.c.iii (Stage-storage table)—Please ensure that the stage-storage table reflects the actual SCM geometry. For example, the cross-sectional area for the sand chamber is shown to be constant whereas in actuality, it increases as the elevation increases (the attached screenshot shows the approximate extents of the cross-sectional area of the sand chamber at elevation 768.0' and is larger than the cross-sectional area of the sand filter surface area of 4,732 sf). Please revise the stage-storage table and correct Lines 23 &30(and any other lines as needed) of the Sand Filter Page of the Supplement-EZ Form. Please also note that the highlighted row of the stage-storage table shows the elevation as 768.42'whereas the invert of the bypass device is shown at elevation 768.45' per the plans. Please revise. • Supplement-EZ Form, Drainage Areas Page, Line 20—The design volume of the SCM is the storage volume provided in the SCM above the bottom of the SCM (in this case, at elevation 767.2') and below the invert of the lowest bypass invert(in this case, at elevation 768.45').This value will be equal to the sum of lines 23 &30 of the Sand Filter Page • NOTE: Since the lowest point of the sand filter is located less than 2 feet above the SHWT elevation, special language will be added to the permit for this project to ensure that the underdrain system does not drain the 2 water table (essentially the language will add a monitoring requirement to check the underdrain outlets for flow during dry periods and to fix it if it becomes an issue). Reviews under the Standard permitting process can take up to 90 calendar days to complete. You can see where this project stands in the review queue by emailing Jim Farkas (He has an autoreply set up that has the review queue on it). Please upload all documents that you mailed into our office through the link provided below. Be sure to choose the Central Office as the Primary Contact office. https://edocs.deg.nc.gov/Forms/SW-Supplemental-Upload IMPORTANT NOTE: Please ensure that each file is uploaded under its appropriate file type. Additional file types can be entered into the electronic form by clicking on the "Add Another Post-Construction File Upload" link directly below the "State Stormwater Information Uploads" section of the form. YOU MUST CLICK ON THE"ADD ANOTHER POST- CONSTRUCTION FILE UPLOAD"TO ADD ADDITIONAL FILE TYPES TO THE SUBMISSION. Merely changing the file type dropdown as you upload the various files (without adding additional file uploads)will upload all of the files as the last file type selected, the submission will get flagged during review, and you will need to resubmit the files. Please do not upload entire plan sets through this form, but rather upload the relevant individual sheets under the appropriate file type. Selecting the correct file type ensures that the files are properly named in the electronic repository and it helps expedite the review process. NOTE:We do not require and we discourage the upload/submission of extraneous plan sheets (such as lighting plans, utility plans, striping plans, sight distance plans, etc...) as these files are not needed for review. Please type in permit#: SW3230608 This project will be reviewed by Jim Farkas, if you have any questions, please contact them at iim.farkas@deg.nc.gov or at 919-707-3646. 5 Thank you, Kaitlin Peck Environmental Specialist North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Office: (919) 707-9209 Kaitlin.peck@deg.nc.Rov D_ E NUH I H UAHOLINA 74M Q ti ; Department of Environmental Quality Email correspondence to and from this address is subject to the North Carolina Public Records Law and may be disclosed to third parties. Project density calculation information can be found in 15A NCAC 02H .1003(1). Please note that"existing BUA" refers to BUA that was in-place prior to the rules going into effect in this area, not just what BUA happens to currently be on the site. Please revise and provide a calculation in the calculation booklet showing how the percent BUA for the site is calculated. • Section IV, 10—Please show the total drainage area in square feet instead of acres. 6 • Section IV, 10—Please use the information for the first named surface water("Crane Creek", "C", "12- 115-(2)for the receiving stream name, classification and index number.
