Please explain and detail according to "help file" instructions. Per discussion with Michael Burkhard, this application is submitted to document final layout of our installed walkway through the buffer zone at 8134 Bay Point Dr. in Denver NC. When we began cleaning up and removing weeds, it became apparent that an existing flattened area existed on the site prior to our construction start. The "flattened area" ran along side of the existing rip rap but was covered with weeds at time of previous documentation. We made the determination in the field that this existing path would be a safer path of travel for people walking between the pier and home. Additionally, we felt there would be less disturbance to the remaining trees if we had gone up the hill. The attached images illustrate the pre- and final conditions of the walkway from pier to home. Additionally, we chose to use flagstone set into gravel fines in lieu of techno bloc pavers set on gravel fines as it is also a documented pervious paving system. We made this decision to preserve a more natural look in the buffer zone. We are requesting modification from previously submitted and approved plan and documenting the final location of walkway. 7. Impact Justification and Mitigation 1. Avoidance and Minimization .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. la. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project. Used existing grade as pathway. Placed flagstone over gravel fines which is a pervious pavement system. 1 b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques. All work was conducted along the path being installed, area was kept clear, and erosion control was added during construction. Additional boulders were added to existing "cut" to preserve the existing slope. E. Diffuse Flow Plan la. What type of SCM are you providing? * Level Spreader Vegetated Conveyance (lower SHWT) Wetland Swale (higher SHWT) Proposed project will not create concentrated stormwater flow through the buffer Other SCM that removed minimum of 30% nitrogen 1 c. Is this an after -the -fact buffer authorization application? 2c. If you answered "yes" to one or both of the above questions, provide an explanation of the violation(s): See attached letter. Per discussion with Michael we are submitting for approval the change of direction of pathway. All other buffer work has been completed per previous authorization. G.
