VAN DER VAART LOUIS DANIEL February 10, 2016 The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries must refine permitted construction plans for Little Creek Oyster Sanctuary in the Neuse River. Construction is authorized this site under permit number 140-09, expiring December 31, 2017. Due to exorbitant cost and limited availability, the use of "Florida Limestone Pyramids" is not feasible. The NCDMF would like to refine CAMA 140-09 to increase the amount of four alternative materials: basalt rock, limestone rock, granite rock, and concrete blocks. These materials have already been approved for construction in the minor permit modification, dated May 5, 2015. In addition to previously authorized tonnages of these materials, six -hundred (600) tons of each material type will be used to supplement to the Florida Limestone Pyramids. All construction boundaries and areas are to remain the same.
