Hi Bill and Kimberly, The purpose of this email is to notify you of the following sediment that discharged into wetlands (15'x20'x1/2") at Bexford Subdivision in the Fuquay-Varina Jurisdiction (COC NCC231386; Fuquay EC-2021-45) witnessed during our NPDES inspection that impacted the wetlands. The outlet structure and surrounding silt fence failed below retaining wall between SSB 13 and SCM 16 causing sediment to enter the wetlands in an area approximately 15 feet by 20 feet. Sediment depths are estimated to have a depth of 0.50 inches among most of the area with a little more in the center, and less on the fringes. The sediment was recoverable and was fully recovered quickly using low impact methods and subsequently covered with pine straw. I spot checked multiple areas where pine straw was applied and sediment was sufficiently removed. The silt fence and outlet were rebuilt and crews are working on light grading multiple areas on site to prepare for seed and mulch. Please let me know if you have any questions, further recommendations, need photos, or wish to meet on site.
