Inspection Summary:
This inspection was completed at the request of the permitee to confirm that the correct permit had been applied for.The
facility manufactures plastic pellets for use in various industries. The facility has one retention pond with one outfall, and
outdoor storage for wooden pallets, a covered storage area for cardboard bins of bulk non-pelletized plastic, and an open top
dumpster. There are no floor drains within the facility that go outside of the building.Al wastewater from plastic
manufacturing water baths is treated via an on-site treatment system before it is returned to the City of Gastonia water
system.A SWPPP is being created by a third party consultant to be implemented.Based on this inspection, it is
recommended that permit number NCG050473 be issued to Polykemi Manufacturing LLC.
