Dear Mr. Pusey:
In a letter dated November 19, 2015, DEMLR identified Pond 9-1 and Pond 10 in Storm
Water Permit No. SW 8 981008 as not being in compliance with the terms and condition
of the renewed and reissued state stormwater permit.
Observations on Pond 9-1 included some areas of erosion around the main pond. The
plan of action for Pond 9-1 is to remove the existing grass, fill and grade the pond bank
and stabilize the slope with temporary.•rye.grass. This will be completed by February 29,
2016. We will.then re-seed with Bermuda type.grass in the;,Spring.
Observations on Pond,10 included the following; :.
1 -A temporary slope drain pipe into the forebay area has substantial erosion around the
pipe. The pipe should be removed, erosion repaired and riprap or other bank
stabilization method should be used to prevent future erosion. Sediment should be
removed from that area as necessary.
The plan of action is to remove the temporary drain pipe(s), erosion will be graded and
filled and the bank will be stabilized with temporary rye grass. No significant sediment
was noted for removal. This will be completed by February 29, 2016. We will then re-
seed with Bermuda type grass in the Spring.
2 —The forbay area, there is an area of riprap on the bank where erosion has startedto
take place. The area needs to be repaired and sediment should be removed as
necessary.
The plan of action is the erosion will be graded and filled and the bank will be stabilized
with temporary rye grass. It is our intention to combine this area with #1 as noted above.
No significant sediment was noted for removal. This will be completed by February 29,
2016.,We will then,re-seed with.Bermuda type grass in the Spring.
3 —The outlet structure appears to be somewhat clogged wift algae and leaves. The
trash rack should be cleaned out and the orifice pipe checked to enure proper flow.
Magnolia Greens is professionally managed by CEPCO and all inquiries should be
made to their above address and phone number.
The trash rack has already been cleaned out and the orifice pipe checked to ensure
proper flow. See picture below. In addition, any floating algae in both the forbay and
main pond will be removed and treated. This will be completed by February 29, 2016.
