BACHELOR ENLISTED QUARTERS
P-630 CAMP LEJEUNE, NORTH CAROLINA
STORMWATER MANAGEMENT NARRATIVE
This project consists of the construction of a bachelor enlisted quarters building, the associated
utilities, parking areas and basketball and volleyball courts. The site is bound by 9th Street to the
north, 10th Street to the south, "C" Street to the east and "B" Street to the west. The site
currently has some paved areas which will be removed to accommodate new construction.
The stormwater runoff associated with the building will be conveyed to a stone trench with
perforated pipe. The perforated pipe connects to catch basins. Stormwater runoff associated
with the parking areas is conveyed to curb inlets. Stormwater runoff associated with the
remaining site areas is conveyed to catch basins via drainage swales.
The runoff from the site will be conveyed to a 4.5 foot deep wet detention basin. The basin is
designed in accordance with North Carolina "Design of Stormwater Control Facilities" manual.
The pond will discharge to an existing storm drainage system on the east side of the site.

maintained by the Contractor during construction. After construction is complete, the
temporary erosion control measures will be removed by the Contractor and the permanent
stormwater management pond will become the responsibility of the Facilities Maintenance
Officer, MCB Camp Lejeune.
I INSPECT AFTER EVERY RUNOFF PRODUCING RAINFALL EVENT:
1. Orifice - Remove any clogging debris.
2. Trash Rack - Remove trash accumulation.
3. Pond Side Slopes - Repair eroded areas, remove trash.
II INSPECT QUARTERLY:
1. Catch Basins - Remove trash
2. Inlet Piping - Repair undercutting, remove interior trash, replace riprap.
3. Grass Swales - Repair and reseed eroded areas, remove trash.
4. Vegetated Filter - Repair and reseed eroded areas.
