It must be removed as soon as the depth is reduced to 3'. The drainage area for each pond must necessarily include the pond and all the slopes around it that drain into the pond. Please revise the calculations, supplements, and application. The drainage area for Pond 1 is incomplete. It appears that the northeast half of the entrance road will not be collected, based on the delineation provided, but a swale is shown along the northeast side of the road that looks as if it will pick up that runoff. Please check the drainage area for Pond 1 and include the entrance road. For ease of review, a highlighted and labeled drainage area map would be most appreciated. The basin side slopes above the permanent pool are no steeper than 3:1. /[4 h. A submerged and vegetated perimeter shelf with a slope of 6:1 or less (show detail). f---? / i. Vegetative cover above the permanent pool elevation is specified. j. A trash rack or similar device is provided for both the overflow and orifice. k. A recorded drainage easement is provided for each basin including access to nearest right- of-way. /( 1. If the basin is used for sediment and erosion control during construction, clean out of the basin is specified prior to use as a wet detention basin. m. A mechanism is specified which will drain the basin for maintenance or an emergency. Pump III. WET DETENTION BASIN OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT The wet detention basin system is defined as the wet detention basin, pretreatment including forebays and the vegetated filter if one is provided. This system (check one) 0 does 00does not incorporate a vegetated filter at the outlet. This system (check one) 0 does oboes not incorporate pretreatment other than a forebay. Form SWU-102 Rev 3.99 Pave 2 of 4 TY in21L t'S. Maintenance activities shall be performed as follows: 1. After every significant runoff producing rainfall event and at least monthly: a. Inspect the wet detention basin system for sediment accumulation, erosion, trash accumulation, vegetated cover, and general condition. b. Check and clear the orifice of any obstructions such that drawdown of the temporary pool occurs within 2 to 5 days as designed- 2. Repair eroded areas immediately, re-seed as necessary to maintain good vegetative cover, mow vegetative cover to maintain a maximum height of six inches, and remove trash as needed. 3. Inspect and repair the collection system (i.e. catch basins, piping, swales, riprap, etc.) quarterly to maintain proper functioning. 4. Remove accumulated sediment from the wet detention basin system semi-annually or when depth is reduced to 75% of the original design depth (see diagram below). Removed sediment shall be disposed of in an appropriate manner and shall be handled in a manner that will not adversely impact water quality (i.e. stockpiling near a wet detention basin or stream, etc.). The measuring device used to determine the sediment elevation shall be such that it will give an accurate depth reading and not readily penetrate into accumulated sediments. When the permanent pool depth reads 3.76 "1 feet in:the main pond, the sediment shall be removed. u) When the permanent pool depth reads 5716 feet in the forebay, the sediment shall be removed. These plants shall be encouraged to grow along the vegetated shelf and forebay berm. 6. If the basin must be drained for an emergency or to perform maintenance, the flushing of sediment through the emergency drain shall be minimized to the maximum extent practical. Wetland line has been labeled. 2. All critical dimensions have been added. 3. Thank you. 4. Please note that a second stormwater pond has been added on the east side of the site. Consequently, calculations have been revised. Forebay volume calculations are based upon permanent pool volume. 5. Calculations and supplement revised. 6. State road numbers and the distances to nearest major intersections shown. 7. Drainage areas delineated on grading plan. I hope this information will allow you to approve this plan and issue the permit for this project. Should you have any questions, please call at(910)938-5261. A preliminary review of that information has determined that the application is not complete. The following information is needed to continue the stormwater review: 5 It Ay PZ 1. Delineate all wetlands on site, disturbed or undisturbed, or note on the plans that none exist. Not CP ✓ 2. Please provide dimensions for the buildings, parking stalls, and permanent pool contour of the detention pond. Please dimension each line, are and provide all radii for the permanent pool contour. 3. Your name and title were left off page 1 of the application. Since they were provided on page 4 and on the supplement, I have taken the liberty of adding them to page 1. ,/4. The forebay volume is determined by multiplying the permanent pool volume, 83,390 as reported on the supplement, by 20%. The calculations provided incorrectly use the surface area of the pond instead of the permanent pool volume. Please revise. Jr {G0 Q 5. The calculations use an SA/DA ratio of 3.63%, but the supplement reports 3.54%. Which is u ti correct? k y (° c 6. Please add State Road numbers and the direction, distance to, and name of the nearest major intersection-like US 17. 7.
