SUBJECT: NPDES PERMIT CORRECTION
West Carteret WWTP
Carteret County
PERMIT NO: NC0077143
Dear Ms. Smith -Perri:
Dee Freeman
Secretary
On March 3, 2010, Division staff notified the NPDES permiting program of an error found on the
effluent limits page of the above -referenced permit. The Dissolved Oxygen sample type was shown as
composite instead of grab. Also, please note that the Total Residual Chlorine footnote on that page was.,
updated to reflect the Divisions new requirements, and so reads:
The Division shall consider all effluent TRC values reported below 50 ug/1 to be in compliance
with the permit. However, the Permittee shall continue to record and submit all values
reported by a North Carolina certified laboratory (including field certified), even if these
values fall below SO ugR:
Please find enclosed a copy of an amended effluent limitations page for outfall 001. This page should
be inserted into your permit and the old one discarded. All other terms and conditions contained in the
original permit remain unchanged and in full effect. This permit correction is issued pursuant to the
requirements of North Carolina General Statutes 143-215.1 and the Memorandum of Agreement between
North Carolina and the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency.
If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact Maureen
Scardina of my staff at (919) 807-6388.
Sincerely,
Colleen H. Sullins

Subject: NCO077143 - Correction to DO Sample Type on Limits Page
Hey Maureen, can someone take a look at the subject permit and issue a corrected limits page
for DO sample type? It is listed as composite but DO can only be a grab.
