Cooperative Extension Sampson County Center To whom it may concern (DWR Fayetteville Region): This letter is in regards to the latest DWR Inspection conducted at Concord Nursery owned by Mr. William Pope. Mr. Pope has been working with Mr. Max Schafer who owns EvoAgTec of Newton Grove, NC. Mr. Pope has partnered with them for years in the study of biologic additives to enhance the function of his lagoon system. The agreement between the parties requires regular lagoon sludge surveying by EvoAgTec to determine the effectiveness of the bioactive additives. There was a miscommunication this year and when Mr. Pope was inspected in 2024, he did not yet have a sludge survey completed for this year. Mr. Pope contacted EvoAgTec who immediately conducted the sludge survey for 2024 and sludge removal POA. All needed documentation has been provided to Mrs. Harrison who conducted the inspection of Mr. Pope's Concord nursery this year. Mr. Pope has an agreement with EvoAgTec for the removal of his sludge weather permitting within the next two-year period. Mr. William Pope has grown hogs in North Carolina for over 30 years, takes great pride in his farm, and plans to leave it better than he found it for future generations. He has a stellar record of compliance and goes above and beyond to be an environmental steward growing hogs, pasture hay, and row crops for our fellow citizens. Please let us know you have received this letter successfully. Thank you Respectfully submitted, Max Knowles (Sampson County Livestock Agent) Mr. William Pope N.C.
