To Whom It May Concern—Triton Environmental,LLC(Triton) is providing notification in accordance
with Part E-6 of General Permit No.NCG060000 on behalf of the Morton Salt, Inc. (Morton)site located
in Siloam,North Carolina.
Laboratory analytical results reviewed on April 22,2024 indicated Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD)
was detected at a concentration of 1,780 mg/L and Total Suspended Solids(TSS)was detected at a
concentration of 247 mg/L during routine quarterly monitoring completed on April 9,2024. The
concentrations of these parameters were above the benchmark limits of 120 mg/1 for COD and 100 mg/1
for TSS.
Morton will also be completing the additional required actions to address the noted concentrations (ie.
stormwater management inspection, identifying and evaluating possible causes of the benchmark
exceedance, selecting and implementing specific courses of action to reduce concentrations of COD).
